Description

Advances in sequencing technologies have provided unprecedented insights into the collection of genomic alterations that contribute to cancer, and new discoveries in these areas are driving the development of precision therapeutics. In this course, you will learn the fundamental principles in cancer genetics, and then apply these principles to understand the latest advances in cancer genomics and precision oncology. This will allow you to learn about cutting edge approaches and provide you with a strong basis to understand future developments in the field.

This is a fully online course. Students registering for this course will be automatically enrolled by HMX and will receive a confirmation email from onlinelearning@hms.harvard.edu three days prior to the HMX course start date. All course-related activities will happen through the HMX online platform. Credit will be awarded to students who earn a Certificate of Achievement. A grade of SAT will only be awarded to students who earn a Certificate of Achievement in the course (typically equivalent to an overall score of 80% and no less than 65% on the final exam). Students who fail to meet this threshold will receive an UNSAT.

Students must enroll in this course no later than September 7, 2025.

This course is intended for master's students only. Students must complete this course between September 2 and November 14, 2025.
